Combine Harvester !

I've been waiting for this day for weeks !, i love watching the combine working in the fields and love taking photographs of it. When watching the combine it always looks like it's going super slow but before you know it an hour has gone and so has half a field of crops, this may be why i was surprised to find i'd taken so many photographs just standing there watching, i thought i'd only taking half of the amount i put on my computer, so i was pretty impressed. There was one perfect photograph i was waiting to take as the sun was setting, but he didn't come and finish the last little bit, so i'm still waiting !, but for now here are a few.. enjoy

Body Portraits

Whilst browsing my favorite place for inspiration, pinterest i came across multiple images of just hands, ears, legs etc, in black and white. I really liked this idea of having a portrait but no actual form of identity, so whilst saving for a few little bits of war militaria i need for a shoot I'm planning i decided I'd so this black and white body portraits shoot, thinking it would be simple do to. I was wrong !, taking a photograph of just one part of a person is trickier than it actually looks getting the composition just right was a challenge. In college i was always told to think of simple idea's (something i find difficult), so this is why I'm a little confused as to why i can take more complicated pictures and be so much more pleased with them, than taking a 'simple' picture of just one thing with nothing going on around it or little emotion shown and not enjoy it or love it as much as i would my other work.

I'm really not pleased with these photographs, but i guess it's just trial and error, I'm going to put a few on here so you can see, but these aren't my best photographs, or the ones i love the most, i will keep taking the same style pictures and update this post, but as of yet I'm not thrilled with the set.

I will also  post a new blog of my plans for my next shoot, which i cannot wait to do ! it's not a pretty girly one with floaty dresses and sparkle, it's far from it, a plan will appear soon :)

A Princess In The Garden.

A Princess

Yesterday i did my second shoot of the summer holidays, but due to being unable to get to my location the photographs are shot in my garden and surrounding fields. Poses and inspiration i found on flickr and pinterest. The make up was done by me :) & the model is my cousin, so thankyou Jasmine for sitting in the garden in the cold wind !, there will be a few more photo's added later on, as i'm still trying to master 'floating' images.

The top 2 photographs are my favourite from the shoot !

First shoot done.

First Summer Shoot

Today i half finished my first shoot of many over the summer, I still have 2 more parts to this shoot to photograph, but I'm waiting for a brighter day to take some as, my other location was in a small woods with a little stream so there is very little light there. I also have to sew the ribbon and elastic into the ballet shoes. The make up and hair was both done by me, the model is my little sister, thank you Niamh !. So here is a few from today. When i've taken the other photographs i will update this blog post :D

This last photo as you can tell is not fantastic, but it was just a little experiment , i wanted to try and capture the movement of the feet in a elegant and slow way, it hadn't worked like i wanted it too, but i put it on anyway to show you my idea.

Summer shoots

Summer shoots !!

It's the summer holidays, i have lots and lots of idea's and lots of people willing to help. I want to take more photographs over summer as i will have more people available to photograph, and the weather here in Britain is glorious at the moment which is all the more reason to get out and about with my camera.

For the last few weeks I've been browisng the Internet, flickr and pinterest for idea's for fairy-tale photo shoots, luckily enough i have a family mainly full of girls who love nothing more than being dressed up & having their hair and make up done !, but i would also like to do a Robin Hood/Peter pan shoot, with my younger brother who doesn't appear much. My pinterest and flickr is full of inspiring idea's and edits that one day i hope i will be able to achieve, i will leave the links below. The photograph below is of my idea's I've been putting together it's taken a while to actually getting round to taking the photographs as I've had a few things to buy & I'm still hoping to get a few more things, then i shall be able to crack on. In at least 2 of the shoots I'm going to be using coloured smoke, does anybody know if you have to tell anyone you're going to be doing this in case people think there is a fire somewhere ? if you do know please comment on this blog post or let me know on my facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/AFPhotography12?ref=hl) Can't wait to take the photographs and show the results, i will be taking a series of them at Lydiate Hall, another at some woods with a little stream running through it, hopefully some at the beach and some in a field. Can't wait to show you all, be prepared for glitter, dresses, bubbles, balloons & more. Please share my blog with family and friends so they too can see My work :).

I'm Thinking shadows ?

A little while ago, i was inspired by a few photographs i had seen on flickr and the Internet of someone pressed up against a sheet creating creepy shadows. So i did my own little take on it, and really enjoyed it, i was surprised how such a simple idea could look so good, so i think i might so it again, maybe use more props different people and different poses. It's quick, simple & effective, unlike my other idea's which are confusing, require detailed planning etc. So you know what i mean, the photographs below are the ones i previously did for a project in college. I will hopefully do some new ones this weekend :)

New Ferret

So here he is, my new ferret as of yet he has no name !. He looks like he's wearing a mask so we where thinking of Robin.. from Batman & Robin but i'm not sure about it so if anyone has any suggestions let me know, when Alfie died i knew how much i'd miss not having him about and him always watching whats going on, but instead his cage would be an empty space, so i couldn't wait to get my new little one. Here he is :) !
